Haiku Friday: School Time!

What’s that sound I hear?
A school bus is driving by –
It’s that time again

Not a moment too
soon! It’s back to school time and
parents all rejoice!

I love fall in general, but I can’t wait until the start of the school year next week. Cordy will have her old routine back, with her awesome preschool teacher and many of her preschool friends from last year. She’ll (eventually) be happier, and I’ll be happier to have her back on a routine again, as well as getting some one-on-one time with Mira, who will be happy to get my undivided attention.

Everyone wins. I love school.

This post is part of the Back to School Blog Blast this weekend, sponsored by Parent Bloggers Network and Hanes. Want to win some underwear for your kids (or yourself?) – there’s still time to add your post!

To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:

1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.

2. Sign the Mister Linky below with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your main blog URL). DON’T sign unless you have a haiku this week. If you need help with this, please let me know.

3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button at the top.

REMEMBER: Do not post your link unless you have a haiku this week! I will delete any links without haiku!

  6. First timer with the Haiku Friday group. (be gentle with me)
School is ALMOST back in session around here too. That means *sigh* my break is also over and work begins again…

  7. That’s great that she has a good teacher! I love the routine of school too. Too bad I homeschool now, LOL! There have been many times lately I’ve been wishing for that big yellow bus.

  8. And rejoicing is what I’m doing 🙂

    Happy Friday.

  9. Ahhh, the joys of being a retired teacher — the others have to go back to work and I get to write Friday Haikus. Mine is up and ready for review. 🙂

  10. I can’t get over how EARLY school starts for some of you. Here in So Cal kids won’t return to school until the week of Labor Day. Of course ‘vacation’ didn’t begin until the last week in June, so maybe that’s the difference?
    Hugs and blessings,

  11. My son will be starting kindergarten, bringing all kinds of new experiences into our lives. I’ve written a haiku to my husband.

  12. Yesterday I noticed a lot of dead leaves on the ground. The trees don’t have that sad, fall look yet, but can it be far behind?

  13. Mine started on Wednesday!

  14. My kids are looking forward to school beginning again, too. 🙂 I’m looking forward to autumn, my favorite season of the year. 🙂

  15. The Laundress says

Eeek…I can’t wait for school to start..and we’re still in preschool even.!!!

  16. ya ya's mom says

tra la la la laaaa….let school begin…even as a teacher i love this time of year…i’m just a geek i guess!

  17. I love school! Peanut has a few more years before she starts, so I have to live vicariously through others. I’m seriously considering going back to school so I can buy school supplies.

  18. It’s been an adjustment getting used to the new routine, but I’m glad school is back!

  19. School = good! don’t forget to squeeze a little mommy time in there too. Love yourself and it’ll help you cope with loving everyone else.

  20. jerseygirl89 says

I’m torn between looking forward to preschool starting in a few weeks and feeling sad that summer is almost over.

  21. I hear ya! CJ starts school next week, too and I think he’s ready for the routine to be back, too. Things were starting to get a little dull in these last days of summer for the boys at home, I think.

  22. DuckyBoy is, finally, looking forward to first grade. I only hope it lives up and is a good year for him. The more distance we get from kindergarten the more I think I should have questioned more about his teachers.

  23. Amelia Sprout says

I can’t wait for school, in a few years, partially because I want to quit paying for daycare. Glad she’s going to have her routine back, I know how much that matters.

  24. First Haiku Friday for me! My son’s only 8 months old, so no school for him. My husband went back this week, though, both as a student for his teaching certificate, and a substitute teacher. I miss school. I love buying new supplies at the beginning of the year, organizing all the notebooks, punching holes in all the syllabi… oh man I’m a geek.

  25. I’m a teacher….guess what…I get excited for the first day of school and nervous too. I work with the BIG kids (college) and I never ever know what to expect the first day…can’t wait for it to come AND be over!

  26. OK… so I just got off of someone else’s blog, thinking about the content therein, when I read the title to yours, and in my head I combined my thoughts with your text:

Haiku Friday: Sexual Assault Panda Time!

Now *that* would be funny… er… not funny.

Anyway, I am clearly delirious, so absolutely need the kids to go back to school!
