Geez.  We&amp;#39;re fortunate, her school uses the same menu and supplier as the St. Paul schools and they are absolutely wonderful about having real fruit and veggies every day.  They also use local produce (other than in winter) and have a couple ethnically diverse dishes.  However, they do believe that cheese bread is a good breakfast (argh!) and have too many hot dogs/corn dogs a month for my liking.  Still, progress is progress. While my kids are no longer in grade school, the school they attended instituted a healthy food program So kids are no longer allowed to bring in cupcakes or cookies for parties or birthdays. They can bring in a list of pre-approved items such as yogurt, veggie trays, fruit etc or you can order a &amp;quot;party platter (most of the same things from that list) from the school cafeteria service. Kids are not allowed to bring in candy bags for Halloween parties either. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BUT...meanwhile they are still serving the same old school lunches.
