Ninja Toddler

Remember how Cordy climbed out of her pack n play at her babysitter’s on Tuesday? Well, her stealth ninja tactics continue.

Last night I put her in her crib for bed. I remember this clearly. She settled down quickly and went to sleep. We didn’t hear a sound from her until this morning, when we heard her normal routine of chatting to her stuffed animals.

Aaron opened the door to her room to get her out of her crib, but instead Cordy met him at the door, saying, “Hi, daddy!” I was in our bedroom at the time, but I could hear the surprise in his voice as he said “Uh… hi Cordy!”

There was no thump. There were no cries. She somehow climbed out of her crib without making a sound. By the time she’s 16, she’ll be a pro at sneaking out of the house at night. We always expected her to be a pirate, but apparently she’s heading down the ninja track instead.

So the crib will likely be coming down in the next week, and we’ll be forcing her to sleep in her toddler bed. If she can climb out of the crib, she doesn’t need it. I only hope she won’t learn to open doors anytime soon, although I’m sure it’s coming.

In other news, I saw that Mayberry Mom has been into the Girl Scout cookies. I love this time of year – why can’t they sell these cookies year round?

I’ve tracked down a few boxes of Thin Mints around here, which I have been hoarding and eating away from Cordy. (Sorry kid, mommy doesn’t share her Thin Mints.) But what I really want are the Lemonades. I’ve asked three different troops here in Columbus, and all three told me they didn’t get any Lemonades, because they’re discontinued. Clearly they’re not, though, since you can clearly see an empty box on Mayberry Mom’s table.

Does anyone else have access to Lemonades? Surely someone knows a Girl Scout or is a troop leader out there? Help a pregnant woman satisfy this insane craving and tell me how I can get some of these cookies!

Finally, check out my review on CleanWell hand sanitizers over at my reviews blog. If you want something that is non-toxic and won’t leak all over your purse like those goopy alcohol-based hand gels, this all natural option might be a good choice for you. Bonus: your kids will love it because it’ll make them think of pizza.

  1. I think we’re going to have to think about a toddler bed soon too. ‘Tho she hasn’t scaled the crib yet, Cakes is a proficient climber and like Cordy, she’s getting awfully tall.

  2. The LEMONADES!!! Those are my favorite. I bought some in November when the neighbor kids were selling them. I hid all 6 boxes. They were gone by Christmas. Hence the reason I need to be on Weight Watchers.

But they can’t be discontinuing them or I’ll die. I will absolutely DIE! I NEED THEM!

See? The withdrawals are awful. 🙂

  3. I wish I still had some Lemonades left in the box — I’d send them! If I come across any more, they’re yours.

This year for the Girl Scout cookie sales, we were told they were no longer selling the lemonades. Instead they have some sugar-free chocolate thingies.

Not sure how someone would have gotten ahold of the lemonades, though…from last year maybe?

We can get Lemonades here, they were the new cookie this year. We live in Green Bay, WI. If you could think of a way we could hook you up with some.

  6. Hmmm… never heard of them! And she IS a Ninja baby! I’d think about a baby lock on the door if you’re concerned about her roaming the house…

  7. On the GS website, it says Lemonades are new this year. If you go to the cookie site and type in your zip code, a GSCookie rep will contact you and hook you up with your crack…um, cookies.

    Yours in cookie co-dependency,

  8. Yup, sounds like your little ninja is ready for a bed.
Lemonades? I never heard of them. Sounds like I am missing out on something good! Unfortunately, this is the first year I didn’t buy girl scout cookies. I don’t know any girlscouts, yet. My waistline is happy, but my tummy isn’t.
    😉

Oooh the girl scouts were selling boxes at our local market…have you tried place like that?

My kids moved to futon mattresses on the floor by one I think. Hang in there with the climbing. 🙂

There was this santizier, all natural, Jao I think. I miss it. It was the best.

Our son climbed out for the first time just before he was 2 and a half. We got the toddler bed within two weeks, and he settled into using it no problem. It’s really a matter of safety. He never made a sound that was unusual through the monitor when he climbed out, so he must have done it pretty smoothly, but still, he was coming from a high height. There was definitely a safety concern.

Regarding opening doors…Do you have any of those doorknob covers? That’s what we use on any doors we don’t want him to open.

What are these lemonades you speak of? Honestly… never heard of ’em. I thought I was going to die when I asked a girl selling cookies at the grocery store if she had any samoas and she gave me this total blank stare… well they’re called carmel deelites or something else now.

Sounds like Cordy will grow up to be a cat burglar, which could be profitable … 🙂

I have lemonades in my cupboard right now..mmm..must go get some.. Yes, I was told they were one of the new cookies this year.. Good luck finding some..I know all about the preggo cravings that you can’t find..two years ago when I was pg with my daughter it was Raspberry Filled Powdered donuts from hostess..mmm. Took me forever to find them. This pregnancy I haven’t craved any hard-to-find things.. but I’ve craved hot dogs in a dangerous way..

  13. We’re also having crib issues, but it’s that matter of Squeaks getting her limbs stuck. Hope the transition to toddler bed goes smoothly!

Drat. Now I’ll be on my way to walmart to buy some thin mints.

We are in that same place, Christina. The Poo is climbing out at naptime. I think if she does it again we are going to take the front rail off her crib. That might be an interim step for you guys, too.

I think Cordy’s been getting too many lessons from Paul. Doorknob covers have been our saving grace, that’s for sure.
