Further Proof The Universe Has A Twisted Sense Of Humor

First child: refused to breastfeed
Second child: wants nothing but the boob

First child: first tooth erupted at 8 months old
Second child: first tooth erupted at 4 1/2 months old…yesterday

I was expecting another three months of gentle gumming before having to deal with a tooth chomping down on my nipple. And what a sharp little tooth it is, too. Razor sharp.

Ouch.

  1. Once it stops growing & she figures out where the end of it is things will even out; sucks when they accidentally bite but your reaction will give her pause and help her figure out how far is too far. hee hee!

  2. Haha I told the hubbs that I would breastfeed until I could or until the 1st tooth emerged … good luck to you mommy! I hope she learns quick how to not bite~

  3. ouch…

  4. Ouchie! I am dealing with this with a 9 month old barracuda and his sharp teeth. She’ll let up on the biting soon… Good luck!

  5. Ouch! I knew from the beginning that as soon as teeth showed up breastfeeding was ending. I don’t know if I would have stuck with that plan or not if the teeth came at 4 1/2 months. Zoe’s first tooth came at 10 months… and she had decided around 9 months she was done with the boob.

  6. Razor sharp, just like puppy teeth. Thankfully, though, it’s not a puppy!

    Ouch ouch ouch.

Hopefully she doesn’t learn how to use it.

  9. I always say I had to unlearn everything about being a parent when my second child came along. My kids could not be more different…in every single way.

Ouch. I know the pain. I think I still have teethmarks on my boobs and I weaned Elise months ago. (Just kidding.)

But I have to say, teeth were nothing compared to the purple nurple my baby gave me.
