Haiku Friday: Spring Break

I’m on Spring Break, but
with two kids to care for its
not much of a break

Tomorrow is the
start of Cordy’s Spring Break, too.
My stress is doubled.

It wouldn’t be so
bad, except the weatherman
is predicting this:

Rain, rain, rain and rain
So much for hitting the zoo
Indoor fun only.

Still, it could be worse –
It could be the forecast from
Two short weeks ago:

(If you haven’t yet, feel free to ask me a question. I’ll start answering them in a day or two.)

To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:

1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.

2. Sign the Mister Linky below or at Jennifer’s blog with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). DON’T sign unless you have a haiku this week. If you need help with this, contact Jennifer or myself.

3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button at the top.

REMEMBER: Do not post your link unless you have a haiku this week! We will delete any links without haiku!

  1. Oh, yuck. I wish you luck. Hit Target for the craft options. And, maybe a movie?

  2. Way to look on the bright side of that crummy forecast! Have a great weekend!

  3. Woot! Love your ku’s “illustrations”!

  4. We had a gloomy couple of days during our SB, too. Go and see “Horton Hears a Who” if you haven’t already. It was sooo cute!

  5. I changed my travel plans from tomorrow to tonight because we’re supposed to get snow tomorrow. Crazy weather! I think it’s just extra strange, too, with Easter being so early. It doesn’t feel like spring yet – and now it’s Easter? I’m so unprepared.

  6. Great ‘ku. Um, have fun 😉

  7. Oh I should NOT be complaining about how tired I am this week. I am sorry. So very sorry.

  8. Don’t complain too much. We are supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow between Friday and Saturday. Can you stand it????
    Have a great spring break!

  9. I’m with Kat. Except we’re getting 7-10 inches tonight.

    Woe is me.

  10. MamaMichelsBabies says

Yep, your 100% right.. I’ll take 50 and rainy over 20 and snowy any day of the week.

Funny how fast we do warm up though. By the time we get used to it it’s cold again. It’s kinda crual really.

My break starts next week, 2 weeks of no homework. Blessed thing that is.

  11. Up.

  12. Don’t ya just hate it when the weather doesn’t cooperate with your plans? lol

At least it’s time off, even if the weather does suck.

  13. Do you have homework while you’re on spring break? I often did.

  14. We’re slated for 6-10 inches of snow by tomorrow.

I’d take 50’s and rain anyday!

    Enjoy your weekend!
    Happy Easter!

  15. Yesterday it felt like spring, but it snowed last night. 🙁 I need a *real* spring break – from the weather AND the kids!

  16. Goodness! Rain all week is never fun. Stay warm, dry and busy indoors with everyone 🙂

Wishing you a lovely Spring break and maybe some peeks of sun!

  17. Hope you have fun together, nonetheless. 🙂 I’ll comment on friends’ ‘kus once I get home this evening. Have a great day, everyone!

  18. You guys are a lot warmer than we are! They’re predicting snow here this weekend 🙁

  19. I am feeling your pain! Thank God, though, no more snow for us Ohioan- we are so not good with the stuff!

  20. You guys could always put on a kid version of Singin’ in the Rain. I bet both girls would love that!

    : )

  21. It’s snowing as I write. Spring break? Or broken…

  22. Head Gaggler says

Oh no, too much rain. I hope your break isn’t terrible.

  23. That was hilarious! (sorry though 🙁 )

  24. Hi – first time Haiku’ing, I forgot how much fun it can be!

We’ve got lots of sunshine going on, but of course that means it’s freezing out.

    Enjoy your spring break!

  25. hope you don’t go stir crazy with cabin fever!

  26. Joanna (Mof2) says

I have been reading your blog FOREVER! I have commented a few times, just lately I have only had time to read. But seeing as I have been able to blog everyday here lately, I decided to pick up Haiku Fridays! Go check it out…I hope I did it right! It was fun, and I do look forward to it on Fridays.

  27. The weather really puts a crimp on Spring Break doesn’t it? At least we have plenty of company!

  28. I feel for ya with such weather creating challenges for Spring Break activities!
    Hugs and blessings,

  29. Yucky! Poor you.
Sorry the weather is so bad. Maybe your library has some activities or something you could do? Kaboose usually has printable activities and what not. Good luck.
