One Question

Sorry I’m a little MIA here right now. I’m dealing with some stress in my life at the moment, of which I can’t share here yet. (Those of you on Twitter know what I’m talking about. Although please don’t bring it up in the comments, OK?)

We’re having an election party tonight. Aaron and I thought it would be fun to watch the results roll in with a group of friends. We’re going to print off coloring pages of the US map and color in the states as the results roll in. Or maybe have everyone color in their guesses of how the electoral map will play out. No matter who wins, we’ll drink!

So in the spirit of Election Day, I’ll ask the US readers: Did you vote? If not, will you be planting your butt in line before the polls close today?

  1. Voted this a.m. at my daughter’s school. Barely any line! (They said there was a big crowd right when the polls opened, but 45 min later I only had to wait a few minutes.)

  2. I was insane about voting this morning. The kids and I were out the door by 6:45 am, in line and done voting by 7:30. It was amazing and I’m glad that my children got to experience it. Have a great party!

  3. My man and I were in line when the polls opened at 7 this morning!

Tonight, we’re planning on watching the Election Special hosted by Stewart and Colbert. 🙂

  4. Voted this morning around 7:30 – stood in line for about an hour. But it’s a small price to pay!

Wish I could scoot up north today…thinking of you!

  5. Whatever’s going on, hope things get smoother soon.

  6. My hubby went before work. I just got home a little while ago. I had to stand almost two hours in line with my two year old but for the right to vote I think it was worth it.

  7. I LOVE the coloring activity idea. I might have my son do that tonight while we watch the results come in.

Voted – with son. Twenty minute line – can’t complain with that!

  8. I voted early this moring around 7:10.

There was a HUGE line before it opened, I was near the end, it took two hours due to some registration issues with my name change. However, I have voted. Husband goes tonight, when I’m at home with the kiddo. Who, incidentially has now experienced her first election, she was with me when I voted.

  10. Hi! I had the greatest luck, and LOVED being American today! Hubby went to vote this Am at 7 and had a 45 min wait. I left the house at 9, when my wonderful neighbor came to sit with the kids so I could go. (she & her hubby are over 60 & got to mail them in)Walked right in, waited only long enough to sign in and show ID. When I left about ten minutes later, the line was HUGE!!! All the way out the door and into the deep parking lot of the firehouse. I celebrated my luck by shopping for a new pair of jeans for an upcoming girls weekend in NYC!! So, Voted & helped out the Economy all in one two hour time slot…sans children! WOO HOO!!! Hope you are Ok.

  11. Yes! I voted this morning right after I totally broke government property (a package-drop mailbox – it was an accident, I swear!)

There were no lines – which makes me uneasy because we need everyone to get out there!

  12. I voted early on October 28th ;–)
    I’m watching election results now.
    Hugs and blessings,

Sorry to hear about your stress 🙁
Yes, I voted! The line was only aboutv 45 minutes long, so not bad. I took the kids with me, too. They loved it!

  14. I voted this afternoon during my lunch. No line at that time. Although lines were huge first thing in the morning in my area.
I am watching the election coverage now and plan to watch Indecision 2008 with Stewart and Colbert later.
